Favorite Spot in Rhode Island:

My favorite spot in RI is the Norman Bird Sanctuary. My two daughters and I have spent countless days there at the pond, in the fairy house forest, and looking out to Second Beach. Every season there has something special to offer!

When I Am Not Selling Real Estate:

I am in the kitchen or on the mountain. I love to cook and try out new recipes whether it is for my family or friends. On the mountain, I am trying to get better at skiing. I started learning about 7 years ago, and have fallen in love with my time on the slopes and enjoy learning new things!

My Favorite Book:

I love The Alienist by Caleb Carr. I have read it five plus times. It is a dark historical fiction, and gets better with every read.

Kate Haslam has proudly called Aquidneck Island home since 2000 and brings both analytical expertise and genuine community connection to her real estate work. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Chemical Engineering and Providence College with a master’s in Mathematics, Kate combines sharp problem-solving skills with a thoughtful, client-first approach.

Before transitioning into real estate, Kate spent years in Newport’s restaurant industry, where she developed a deep understanding of exceptional customer service. She has also managed residential and commercial rental properties on Aquidneck Island for more than 15 years, building lasting relationships with tenants and property owners alike. Most recently, she served as AP/AR Manager at Newport Lobster Company, further strengthening her financial and organizational expertise.

Kate believes real estate is about relationships, not just transactions. She is deeply invested in her community, including her Donovan Group-branded tennis ball initiative, where she regularly donates tennis balls to the Portsmouth Dog Park. You just might find her there with her two dogs, connecting with neighbors and enjoying one of her favorite local spots.

Kate lives on Aquidneck Island with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, three praying mantises, and one rabbit!
